The art of songket weaving is to interlace long threads passing in one direction with others at right angle. Traditionally, songket is a luxurious fabric that is hand-woven with silk or cotton threads. It may take 3-4 months to complete a beautiful hand-woven songket – an arduous intricate process but full of the labour of love.
Maryam Amelie’s Songket Collection has been specially designed and digitally printed on luxe satin silk material that has been carefully handpicked. You can wear the songket scarves together with your traditional kain songket or even a set of contemporary ready-to-wear outfits.
